The Most Fertile Days to Conceive
Your Fertile Time of Month

When are you most fertile? Your most fertile days to conceive are just before ovulation. To predict your most fertile time of month you must determine when you ovulate.

Recommended:

Your peak fertile period for conceiving and timing intercourse is during the 3 to 5 days leading up to ovulation. You should time baby-making sex in this period about every 36 hours (24 to 48 hours).

This interval gives your male partner's sperm time to recuperate and also puts enough sperm inside your body waiting in the fallopian tube to fertilize the egg when it is released.

If you and your partner are young (early twenties) and have no known fertility problems, then twice a day is not too much during this fertile time of month.

You should add the day of and the day after ovulation to this fertile period just to be sure you don't miss chance at conceiving in case you miscalculate. So all in all, your most fertile days to conceive is a 7 day window.

The best position for getting pregnant is the missionary position. This allows for the deepest penetration for sperm to be deposited closest to the cervix or opening of the uterus and allows gravity to be in your favor. But don't let this ruin your fun. Remember to keep baby-making sex enjoyable. Only the final climax needs to be in that position. But again, if you are young and healthy and/or have no known fertility problems, you can conceive in almost any position including woman-on-top.

Remember also that it can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive a baby (See How Long to Get Pregnant?). And this is totally normal. If, after a year, you haven't gotten pregnant, you will want to consult your doctor and perhaps a fertility specialist. If, however you or your partner are older (35 years or more), you'll want to consult a practitioner after about 6 months of trying to conceive.

How do you know when your most fertile days to conceive are?

One of the most reliable ways to determine your most fertile time of month is observing your cervical mucus (CM).

Your mucus will become more abundant and thinner/watery. For most women the most fertile cervical mucus is when is get to egg-white consistency. Once you detect watery and/or egg white CM (EWCM), then your fertile period begins. You should ovulate within a few days. Start having intercourse.

That method combined with charting your basal body temperature (BBT) is even better for predicting your ovulation period.
